How to Create a Trade-Only API Key on Pionex (Step by Step)
Before any bot can trade for you, it needs an API key. Here is how to create a safe one on Pionex — trade-only, with withdrawal switched off so the key can never move your money.
Step by step
- Log in to Pionex and open your account's API management settings.
- Create a new API key (give it a name like “dca-bot”).
- Enable spot trading permission.
- Leave withdrawal disabled. This is the important one — never enable it for a bot.
- If offered, restrict the key to your IP address for extra safety.
- Copy the API key and secret — the secret is shown once, so save it somewhere safe.
- Paste them into your bot's config file on your own computer. Never share them or paste them into a website or chat.
That is it. With a trade-only key, the worst case is limited: the bot can place and cancel orders, but it cannot withdraw your funds. If you ever suspect a key is compromised, delete it in Pionex and create a new one — your coins stay put either way.
The BuySellAI DCA Bot uses exactly this kind of key, and its setup guide walks you through the screens with pictures.
Want the bot behind these posts? It runs on your own keys, one-time.
